"Information"
*Personality and Temperament*
One of the strongest characteristics of the Shih Tzu is its personality. The Shih Tzu is a friendly, non-aggressive dog that is a good companion for children and other breeds of dogs. Shih Tzus are
known for their fun-loving play, romping around the apartment or in the countryside. The Shih-Tzu is a people oriented dog, they cherish no more than the love of people. They will sit patiently,
remaining still with their eyes gazing intently on your face waiting for you to call them over to be patted. The Shih Tzu is not a one-person dog. Shih-Tzus are happy to entertain any stranger, once
accepted by the family. This is one reason that they are becoming popular. They make friends wherever they go. The Shih Tzu has a lap dog personality. They are neither high strung nor demanding.
The pet Shih Tzu is content during the day to lie in a corner with his legs stretched out behind him, snoring softly. If he has a choice he would prefer to be curled up in your lap.
*Sizing Information*
At 8 wks of age take the puppies exact weight and multiply by 3
10 wks X 2 and add a pound (for the tinier tea cups this is usually a little high but close)
12 wks X 2
The older the pup the more accurate we can estimate it's adult weight. Usually whatever height your puppy is at around 6 months is the height you can expect it to stay, but an imperial can still gain
one or two pounds from the age of 6 months old to adult hood at around a year old. The above chart is just a guideline, you must take in to consideration what the parents and grandparents weighed. If
a puppy looks to be an imperial but has standard sized parents there is always a chance it may reach near their weight. The most important thing to remember is that no one is able to know exactly what
a puppy will weigh at adulthood. All any breeder can do is give their
best educated guess based on past litter sizes and by knowing the background of sizes in our breeding
adults.
*Pricing Guidelines and Shipping*
Pricing will depend on size, color, lineage, sex, and overall conformation and quality of puppy. Please email for pricing on a certain little one that you are interested in.
Shipping is extra (email us for cost)
Pricing is for Pet Only. Exact prices on puppies are only given once they are around 6 weeks old since pricing is based on size, sex, color, lineage and overall conformation and quality,
some of which we are unable to evaluate until they are a few weeks old. You are more than welcome to get an approx on pricing from us at anytime before then. Once a deposit has been put on a puppy to
hold it and an exact price has been given, that puppies price will not change. Breeder reserves right to pick of the litter.
We do not offer our puppies with Full Registration.
All babies are raised in our home, under foot. They are a part of our family and have human contact from day one. We are NOT a puppy mill, we are a mother/daughter team and we only have a few litters
a year. Our dogs are our babies not puppy making machines!! Before our puppies leave our home they are started on potty training before they go to their new homes. Puppies have their 1st shots, worming
and dewclaws removed. No puppies leave before the age of 8 weeks and sometimes 10+ weeks depending on size and distance they must travel to their new family. They must be a minimum of 2lbs before we will
ship them. For the really tiny ones we may require you to pick them up as our really tiny ones sometimes top out around 2lbs so shipping isnt possible, email us for additional info if you are interested
in one of our micro imperials.
Interested in one of our babies?
We require a postal money order, bank wire transfer or cash deposit to hold a puppy. The deposit is non-refundable, UNLESS the puppy becomes ill or dies before it is picked up. Puppy must be paid in
full at least one week before shipping or pick up date, unless other arrangements have been made. If puppy is not picked up by or within one week of pick up date, the puppy and deposit stay with the
breeder. A puppy will not be shipped or allowed to leave until it is paid for in full by the accepted forms of payment and payment has had time to clear.
THE BREEDER HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE THE SALE OF A PUPPY ANYTIME BEFORE IT IS PICKED UP OR SHIPPED AND A FULL REFUND RETURNED.
*Our Guarantee*
A one year after sale "replacement warranty" is given for any life-threatening congenital disease that causes said puppy to expire. Purchaser must provide written documentation from their vet after having
a necropsy performed at the purchaser's expense, that the death was in fact caused from a genetic defect. Purchaser agrees to send the notarized vet's report and all medical records for this puppy to
breeder's vet. Breeder's vet must confirm and agree with the diagnosis. Breeder will then give the purchaser a replacement puppy of equal value and the same gender, from the next available litter that
produces such a puppy. Replacement warranty will be terminated if puppy was found to be abused, neglected or does not have up to date records of vaccinations and fecal records. Under no circumstances
will a puppy be euthanized even on the advice of your vet, unless the puppy is in immediate distress without first consulting with the seller and any finding, x rays, etc. sent to seller's vet.
Putting a puppy down, without consulting the seller/breeder will void the warranty. We have found that there are many vets out there who are just not familiar with these tiny breeds and will advise
putting a perfectly healthy puppy to sleep unnecessarily because of something they have never encountered before.. If seller's vet agrees that the best option for the puppy is to put it down,
a replacement puppy will be given per the terms of this contract. The breeder is not responsible for vet bills or other expenses.
We can not and do not provide a weight guarantee. All we can do is estimate adult size judging by the pup's weight at time of sale, size of parents and past litters. I do my very best to be with in a 2lb
area but weight is something that I can not control. Exercise, eating habits, and metabolism determines weight also.

(value to be determined by breeder). Breeder has up to one year to replace the puppy.
5. Seller reserves the right to cancel the sale if she feels that it is in the best interest of the puppy.
If the seller cancels the sale, any deposits will be refunded.
6. Puppies must be a minimum of 10 weeks old before they can go to their new homes. Puppies must also be at least 1.5 pounds which in the case of puppies that are expected to be 4 pounds or less,
can be 16 weeks or older. Any puppy that is under 2 pounds must go with a puppy nanny and cannot be shipped cargo.
7. Seller always does her best to ensure that each and every puppy is 100% healthy before he/she goes to their new homes and free from symptoms of contagious and infectious diseases. Breeder has no
control over what the puppy may come in contact with once he/she leaves here. Because of this, no guarantee is made against infectious disease. Purchaser agrees not to take puppy to places where other
dogs frequent to limit exposure to infectious diseases until 3 weeks after the full series of shots is completed. All puppies will be up to date on vaccinations and worming when they leave here and it
is the purchaser's responsibility to ensure that puppy receives any further vaccinations. In no case will breeder be responsible for purchaser's vet bills for puppy.
8. Breeder does not assume any liability for any injury to said puppy after delivery to buyer or after release to shipping company/puppy nanny.
9. Purchaser must take the puppy to the vet for a puppy check within 48 hours of receipt of the puppy.
10. A one year after sale "replacement warranty" is given for any life-threatening congenital disease that causes said puppy to expire. Purchaser must provide written documentation from their vet
after having a necropsy performed at the purchaser's expense, that the death was in fact caused from a genetic defect. Purchaser agrees to send the notarized vet's report and all medical records
for this puppy to breeder's vet. Breeder's vet must confirm and agree with the diagnosis. Breeder will then give the purchaser a replacement puppy of equal value and the same gender, from the next
available litter that produces such a puppy. Replacement warranty will be terminated if puppy was found to be abused, neglected or does not have up to date records of vaccinations and fecal records.
Under no circumstances will a puppy be euthanized even on the advice of your vet, unless the puppy is in immediate distress without first consulting with the seller and any finding, x rays, etc. sent
to seller's vet. Putting a puppy down, without consulting the seller/breeder will void the warranty. We have found that there are many vets out there who are just not familiar with these tiny breeds
and will advise putting a perfectly healthy puppy to sleep unnecessarily because of something they have never encountered before. If seller's vet agrees that the best option for the puppy is to put
it down, a replacement puppy will be given per the terms of this contract. The breeder is not responsible for vet bills or other expenses.
11. Puppy will be up to date on vaccinations, worming and treated for possible internal parasites before going to their new home. Since we do not have fleas or mosquitos that is not something that
we treat for here. Please discuss this with your vet at the initial puppy exam. We also do not have lepto here so they are not vaccinated for it. There is a high incidence of reaction with lepto
vaccines so unless you have an issue with it where you live; we do not recommend vaccinating for it.
12. Warrantee does not cover reactions to vaccinations, or reactions to anesthesia.
13. Warrantee does not cover umbilical hernias or delayed closures which are quite common in this breed and are not life threatening. These do not affect the quality or health of the puppy and
can be easily repaired during spay/neuter.
14. Warrantee does not cover eye issues. Because of their flat faces eye injuries are more common than with longer nosed breeds.
15. Warrantee does not cover open fontal. Purchaser will be made aware of an open font that has not yet closed before shipment of the puppy. An open font is the equivalent of a
baby's soft spot and is from the plates on the head not closing yet. These are quite common in the smaller breeds, Chinese Imperials, Chihuahua's, Pomeranians etc.
Open fonts do eventually close and require no special care other than common sense of not allowing a puppy to injure it's head. For example, do not leave a puppy unattended on a couch or any
surface off of the ground where they could possibly fall onto their head. Do not drop them on their head, or drop anything on their head.
16. Seller assumes no shipping costs associated with the sale or replacement warranty.
17. Seller can not and does not guarantee a specific size that said puppy will be at maturity. Size and weight can be affected by diet and exercise as well as genetics. Seller does their best
to estimate approximate adult size based on several factors as well as past experience.
18. Warranty applies to the original purchaser of this puppy only and is not transferable.
19. Purchaser must submit this signed contract at the time of placing a deposit or as soon as possible thereafter either via scan and email, or US Mail.
20. Due to the increase of undercover buyers, we reserve the right to randomly spay/neuter any puppy not purchased for an approved breeding program before the puppy leaves for their new home.
